My life and my work are about engendering empathy and understanding through narrative empowerment and humanistic storytelling.
I've nicknamed my role at Resolve "Op-ed Shepherd" because I help community members whose stories are often co-opted and marginalized by the media to write a first-person narrative and publish it with a local news outlet. I offer editorial support through the process from brainstorming to editing, pitching, and placing with one of Resolve's partner outlets. Currently, I am designing a narrative toolkit program for community members that offers the skills and tools to compose and edit a first-person narrative to newsroom standard.
